Transparent concrete

Exhibition wall for Belgian Cement Association, Xavier Köttgen, 2007

Litracon is light transmitting concrete, web site!

It contains optical glass fibres; they carry the light through the substance. The fibbers also act as an aggregate and do not detract from the strength of the concrete. It has mainly been used in logos, joinery pieces and instillations, I can’t wait to see it used as exterior walls.

example of use, Iberville Parish Veterans Memorial, Louisiana, USA
